This is your comprehensive guide to the pubs and clubs of Newcastle upon tyne. On this website you will find reviews of the places to drink, which Newcastle has to offer.  There are 6 main area’s in the city, each have their own selection of different pubs and clubs. You can find a description of these area’s below:

Quayside:

The quayside area of Newcastle is located next to the river tyne, about a 5 - 10 minute walk from the city centre. The number and variety of pubs available in the Newcastle Quayside area is staggering. For any occasion you’re bound to find somewhere in my listings that is suitable for you. Whether its cheese or style.

Central Station:

This  area is located just outside the Newcastle Train station and has a close net community of bars. A lot of the bars here are orientated around the social scene, a mixture of wine and cocktail bars.

Bigg Market:

The bigg market is the oldest and most renowned drinking area’s of Newcastle. It is also the largest area, stretching from the from the bottom of Groat Market to Newgate St. The Groat market has bars lined on both sides, this continues up to newgate st.

The Gate:

The Gate is Newcastle’s premier leisure and entertainment centre.  They have a wide range of restaurants and cafes, pubs, bars and clubs as well as the North East’s most exciting casino, Aspers.

Haymarket:

The haymarket is located in the north of newcastle city centre. It hasn’t got as many places to drink as the other areas.  There are more pubs than bars here.  They have a slower pace  and are designed for a sitting down chatting type of night.

There will be an opportunity to add your own comments on the experiences had in the bars, whether good or bad.
